My 2025 New Years Resolutions

My 2025 New Years Resolutions
Happy New Year from Marrakesh

New Year’s resolutions seem to have fallen out of favour instead replaced by endless productivity and goal setting and vision setting tasks, of which I am of course, guilty.

However, I still think it’s nice to have a couple of New Year’s resolutions to help remind you about some of the things that you want to live by throughout the year. Here are some of mine…

Don’t Be A Minority

I resolved to be in as many places as possible where I am not a minority. This includes dinner parties, weddings, brand events, holidays, et cetera. I’ve been a minority for 20 years and the last 7 years have been intense where I have been in mainly white, male spaces. It’s exhausting. The world is only 7% white.

I know no one cares about DEI anymore but if you invite me to something, please ensure there are at least 1/3 brown people in the room.

Watch

Explore Africa and South America

Linked to the above, I really feel like where I spend my travel dollars and distribute wealth is important. And every year everyone I know goes to France and Italy. Now if I travel, I want to explore these two continents, see new things and research world history and be connected to my people.

Drop Millennial Perfection

I often don’t do things if I can’t do them to a super high quality and there are some instances in which that just doesn’t fly. For example, I’ve avoided TikTok and YouTube because they’re more scrappy and loose. The low quality content seems to work the best. I’m of an era where seeing someone “undone” was not the vibe. This year I want to point > shoot > upload.

Launch Something in America

I had the opportunity to move to America was I was 23/24 and I didn’t take it. Business and then baby meant over the last 15 years it’s not been a consideration. This year, I really want to do more in America. Not to live, just to launch. Anyone else coming?

Only Seek Pleasure

I‘m done with struggle. For this year I want to only do work, experiences, products, people and places that bring me pleasure. If there is no pleasure, I’m letting it go. If something is causing me anxiety or just generally ruining my vibe, I’m saying no. After 4 years of pandemic and generally just a long time of stress and anxiety, I’m prioritising my health and pleasure.

Happy New Year from Morocco! 2025 better be good!
